The village of Orbetello is included in the province of Arezzo.
The name is dating back to 1247 and probably derives from a person's name Roman Hortinius, while the additional suffix Raggiolo was in the 967 as Ragiola and comes from the Latin radius with meaning "border line". Initially, the village was founded as a centre feudal until reaching the current arrangement in 1873, until the fraction of Ortignano was added to the territory of the town of Raggiolo deleted.
